Warm Up Walk

On Friday Chris, Patch Rob and me did a warm up walk around Malham

Down into Gordale Scar

Out of the Mouth of the scar

Just a little warm up of 5 miles or so

No Live Posts

Sorry I was having trouble with posting from my mobile so I didn't manage any live posts from Yorkshire.

It works fine from here but not in Yorkshire. Obviously e-mail from your mobile phone hasn't made it to deepest Yorkshire yet!

Route of the walk

Overview of the whole walk:

1st leg From Horton in Ribblesdale up Pen-y-ghent (1st peak)

Off Pen-y-ghent and accross the moor

Up to the Ribblehead Viaduct

Up to Whernside (2nd Peak)

Off Whernside and down to Chapel-le-dale
Up to Ingleborough (3rd peak)

Down off Ingleborough

Final leg back to Horton

Hopefully all in less than 12 hours and all in one piece.

The Magnificent 7

All set for going up to Yorkshire tomorrow. Quick warm up walk in Malham. Then doing the 3 peaks on Saturday.

Weather is supposed to be terrible with heavy rain but I'm sure we'll survive.

Unfortunately Mark has had to drop out so now there is just 7 of us:

Me, Rob, Patch, Chris, Micky, Anthony and Dominic.

Like last year I will try and post our progress from my mobile phone so you should be able to follow our progress if you are interested.

Latest List

This is the latest list of confirmed attendees for the 3 peaks weekend

Fully paid up:

Me
Rob
Patch
Chris J
Mark Broadhurst
Micky
Anthony Priest
Dominic Smith

Confirmed but not shown me the money:

Tony
John Buck - My mate from Wales (originally from Brum and a Blue Nose but we won't hold that against him)
Tom (still can't find a mate to come with!)

Stana has wimped out because of his daughters birthday (which isn't even until the Monday!).

So that should be 11 which is a good number but still room for 3 more if anyone finds anybody.

On our practice walk last week we decided that it would probable be good if Rob got some stuff for breakfast again like last year. So he will get some bacon & sausage for the Sunday and something quicker a lighter for Saturday.

So we will probably do a kitty to cover all remaining cost if everyone puts in £50 total (ie. an extra £30 if you have already paid £20 deposit) then that should cover the total cost of the hut and the food and leave some over to start on the beer kitty.

Practice Walk Success

The practice walk was completed successfully. We had a nice day and did about 15 miles. Me, Rob, Patch, Daggy & Yan all did the walk.

Only problem was that the pub was shut at the end!
